Each year, The Bridge loves to shine a spotlight on a volunteer who has made a real difference in the Melrose Public School experience. We want your help finding them! We know there are so many incredible volunteers out there—some we hear about all the time, while others are quietly making magic happen behind the scenes.
There’s no checklist or strict criteria, but here are some ideas –
- Someone who started a new project, club, or activity that includes a lot of students or has high impact for students
- An individual who regularly volunteers at multiple schools
- Or someone who is always the first to show up and last to leave, who has gone out of their way to connect with hard-to-reach kids, who has a way of making everyone feel special when they’re around
While typically only one person will be named Volunteer of the Year (unless it’s truly a special dynamic duo or super special small team), we’ll be celebrating every nominee. Nominees will be highlighted throughout the year in social media and in our newsletters. The big announcement will happen at our Volunteer Appreciation event in April—a joyful evening to come together, swap stories, and applaud all the good work of volunteers in our schools.
If you have questions or want to bounce ideas off someone, reach out to Lisa Lewis at llewis@melroseschools.com.
We can’t wait to hear about the wonderful things people are doing. Thanks for helping us celebrate our volunteers!
